Description: |
This introductory course provides the minimum training required by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education in order to work as a child daycare worker. The curriculum emphasizes on the content and best practices in three core areas: child guidance; play and exploration; and health, safety and nutrition. This recently revised course is based on the Ministry’s new Play and Exploration Early Learning Program, the curriculum framework used for all childhood programs in the province. This course is a combination of face-to-face and home study. |

Level Four includes Adult Secondary Completion and GED (General Educational Development). Under Adult 12 policy, an adult may attain a Grade 12 standing by completing seven credit classes successfully. You can also upgrade your marks for entry into post-secondary training. |

Level Three courses (Communications, Social Sciences, Life/Work Studies, Mathematics, and Science) are designed for people who want to build on their knowledge and skills. Learners who complete Level Three successfully go on to further education, training, or employment opportunities. |

This program provides knowledge and skill development in establishing a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children. You will develop an understanding of children's varying development, as well as the importance of play as a catalyst for learning. This program meets the license requirement ECE II classification of the Child Care Regulation, 2001, Early Learning and Child Care Branch, Ministry of Education. |
