Business Certificate - 1st Year [SIAST] | Southey
Description: This program is an introduction to accounting with emphasis on basic bookkeeping for service and merchandising businesses. Study a complete accounting cycle, including originating entries, posting, adjusting entries, closing entries, sales tax, special journals, refunds and discounts, petty cash, and financial statement preparation. Payroll bookkeeping is also introduced.
Start Date: September 3, 2013 (part-time)
End Date: May 16, 2014

Basic Bookkeeping | Southey
Description: This program is an introduction to accounting with emphasis on basic bookkeeping for service and merchandising businesses. Office Administration [Lakeland College] | Southey
Description: This Lakeland College program teaches you to take care of business while taking care of people. Develop excellent computer expertise in all the Microsoft Office Suite and Simply Accounting along with office procedures, and business communications. You are prepared to work in diverse areas with excellent career opportunities.
Start Date: Ongoing Intake
Times: Mondays & Thursdays: 7 - 10 pm
Length of Program: 33 weeks - two evenings per week
Pre-requisites: Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% in Math 20, ELA A30 & ELA B30
Cost: approx $4,480 (individual courses vary)
Additional Info: This is a competency-based program where students progress at their own pace and where the instructor is present during class to answer questions, administer tests, and to provide overall assistance in all subject areas.
SIAST credits are transferable to the Lakeland program. Check with the Southey office at 726-5885 for eligibility and registration information.
