General Approval Criteria for Youth Funding for CAP Centres:
Priority will be given to new CAP Centres and first time applicants
to the CAP's Youth Initiative
Applicant must demonstrate that the CAP Centre is able to utilize the
complete work term for which he/she has applied or allocated-no position
splitting
Applicant must show direct supervision is available for Youth Intern
(name, title, contact information)
Applicant must show a need for youth support at the CAP Centre
Applicant must demonstrate in detail sufficient administrative support
and adequate work space, equipment and resources are available to the
youth
Applicant must show in detail that youth will be engaged in meaningful
work related to CAP throughout the work term (e.g. special projects)
and includes a monthly or weekly activity timeline for the full internship
Applicant must provide the appropriate job description for youth that
reflects the CAP Centre and community needs
Application is complete and contains current information
Youth Interns must have access to the Internet and an active email
account as most communication from the Provincial Coordinator is through
email
Supervisors of the youth at the CAP Centre must have access to an active
email account as most communication from the Provincial Contractor is
through email
Priority will be given to newly established CAP Centres
and to CAP Centres that did not receive any funding in the previous competitions
of the fiscal year
The above criteria are subject to modification
as directed by Industry Canada for the 2008-09 CAP Youth Initiative
