Business Certificate - 1st Year [SIAST] | Watrous
Description: This program is an introduction to accounting with emphasis on basic bookkeeping for service and merchandising businesses. Study a complete accounting cycle, including originating entries, posting, adjusting entries, closing entries, sales tax, special journals, refunds and discounts, petty cash, and financial statement preparation. Payroll bookkeeping is also introduced.
Start Date: September 3, 2013 (part-time)
End Date: May 16, 2014

Electrician Applied Certificate [SIAST] | Watrous
Description: Learn how to make electrical installations and perform maintenance duties according to industry standards. Graduates who have a weighted point average of 70% will, upon becoming indentured, be able to apply to the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission to receive credit for Level I technical training. Graduates may find employment with electrical contractors, large manufacturing and mining firms, retail or wholesale outlets.

ESL Tutoring - Canadian Language Benchmarks CLS 1 - 8
Description: Students unable to attend or ineligible for in-class ESL may be matched with a member of their community to learn and practice English skills for two hours per week at home. Tutors are trained and provided with materials and support.

Description: Learn to speak, read, write and understand English as a Subsequent Language. Clients of all levels (CLB 1 to 8) can advance their skills in a formal, classroom setting with a qualified, ESL Instructor.

LINC Homestudy - Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada
Description: Learn to speak, read, write and understand English as a Subsequent Language through independent study online or with print correspondence. Weekly commitment must include 5 -10 hours of independent study doing selected assignments and a 30-minute telephone class. Clients with Permanent Resident status and intermediate skills (CLB 3 - 7) can advance with structured practice designed and selected by a qualified ESL Instructor.  Eligibility criteria do apply.
Location: Available ONLY outside Englefeld, Humboldt, Lanigan, Watrous, Leroy, Annaheim, St. Brieux & Wynyard.

Practical Nursing [SIAST] | Watrous
Description: Practical Nursing is a diploma program. Gain the knowledge and skill development required to provide professional nursing care. Graduates are eligible to write the national licensure examination for registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Saskatchewan. Practical Nurses may find employment in diverse health care settings, such as acute care hospitals, medical centres, home care facilities, and extended care facilities.
Start Date: February 15, 2015
End Date: November 28, 2016
Pre-requisites: Grade 12 with a minimum overall average of 65% in the following five subjects: English Language Arts A30, English Language Arts B30, any 30 level mathematics, one of Biology 30, Chemistry 30 or Physics 30, and one of Social Studies 30, History 30 or Native Studies 30.
Fees: approx $12,353 for the entire two-year program
Additional Info: 65 weeks over three academic years

As part of the registration process, a criminal records check is required. As well, proof of medical fitness, immunization history, and a current Standard First Aid/CPR "C/AED certification are required prior to final acceptance into the program.

Truck Driver Training | Watrous
Description: Have you always wanted to get your 1A license and never had the time? This is your chance. With only two students per instructor, this two-week program will provide you with many hours of on-the-road training. The Air Brake practical and road test are administered at the end of the program. Congratulations! You now have your 1A license.
Start Dates: Set up on an on-demand basis. (2 weeks)
Times: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Prerequisites: Medical
