Credit Programs [Wynyard + Area]

Enjoy a more personalized instruction and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere by enrolling on one of Carlton Trails credit programs. You will recieve identical credits from SIAST, Lakeland and other accrediting insitutions to those recieved on campus.

Adult Basic Education Level Four (Grade 12) | Punnichy

Description:	Do you need to upgrade for entry into post-secondary training programs? Level Four includes Adult Secondary Completion and GED (General Educational Development). Under Adult 12 policy, an adult may attain a Grade 12 standing by completing seven credit classes successfully. You can also upgrade your marks for entry into post-secondary training.

End Date:	May 30, 2014
Prerequisites:	19 years of age and out of school for one year. Pre-assessment is conducted to determine placement.
Fees:	Students may be eligible for a Provincial Training Allowance (PTA).

Description:	Get your Grade 10 and a whole world of possibilities opens up! Level Three courses (Communications, Social Sciences, Life/Work Studies, Mathematics, and Science) are designed for people who want to build on their knowledge and skills. Learners who complete Level Three successfully go on to further education, training, or employment opportunities.

Business Certificate - 1st Year [SIAST] | Wynyard

Description:	This program is an introduction to accounting with emphasis on basic bookkeeping for service and merchandising businesses. Study a complete accounting cycle, including originating entries, posting, adjusting entries, closing entries, sales tax, special journals, refunds and discounts, petty cash, and financial statement preparation. Payroll bookkeeping is also introduced.

Description:	This introductory course provides the minimum training required by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education in order to work as a child daycare worker. The curriculum emphasizes on the content and best practices in three core areas: child guidance; play and exploration; and health, safety and nutrition. This recently revised course is based on the Ministry’s new Play and Exploration Early Learning Program, the curriculum framework used for all childhood programs in the province. This course is a combination of face-to-face and home study.

ESL Tutoring - Canadian Language Benchmarks CLS 1 - 8

Description:	Students unable to attend or ineligible for in-class ESL may be matched with a member of their community to learn and practice English skills for two hours per week at home. Tutors are trained and provided with materials and support.

LINC Classes & Stage One ESL - Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada | Wynyard

Description:	Learn to speak, read, write and understand English as a Subsequent Language. Clients of all levels (CLB 1 to 8) can advance their skills in a formal, classroom setting with a qualified, ESL Instructor.

Office Administration [Lakeland] | Wynyard

Description:	This Lakeland College program teaches you to take care of business while taking care of people. Develop excellent computer expertise in all the Microsoft Office Suite and Simply Accounting along with accounting, office procedures, and business communications. You are prepared to work in diverse areas with excellent career opportunities.
Start Date:	Ongoing Intake
Times:	Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 7 - 10 pm
Length of Program:	33 weeks - two evenings per week
Pre-requisites:	Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% in Math 20, ELA A30 & ELA B30
Cost:	$4,480 (individual courses vary)
Additional Info:	This is a competency-based program where students progress at their own pace and where the instructor is present during class to answer questions, administer tests, and to provide overall assistance in all subject areas.
